This might be the most useless boycott I’ve seen in awhile. Like, when Obama and Trump were fighting for presidency, there were some stupid boycotts during that time, but nothing as stupid as this. You might have seen “fans” of Mihoyo games boycotting a certain new region. That region is Natlan, which is based on Africa.

Now, why is people making a big deal out of this? Well, because as you can see, the main characters in Natlan aren't brown skinned. And, with the region being based on Africa, many believe that the characters should represent that. Which, I totally agree with, but since it’s not my game, I’m not really going to fight on it, but others have.

Like always, we have people editing the characters black. Which, for some, I do think they might have been cooler and expanded the character design more. Like Ororon, who is based off after an African god.

But atleast they got the NPCs right...right...

How should I feel about this...

Now the main reason that brought this up, is with Natlan now in the game, and the characters still being white as snow, that means the boycott has failed, and I can see why.

With people like this, it’s no wonder why nothing will change when it comes to getting diversity in Genshin. I don’t think the boycott would have worked either way, but when you have people trying to boycott, but still playing the game, you’re not really pushing your cause. Mihoyo doesn’t care, and you’re showing you don’t actually care either. And this person got so embarrassed, that they deleted the comment and locked their account. Hell, they even removed the boycott from their name like the person suggested.

And even after this, I bet they're still playing Genshin. Free to play or not, if you’re playing the game, you’re still supporting and helping the game out. So if you’re not really going to commit to the boycott, just play your game, and don’t act like you actually care about more diversity in Genshin. All you really care about is having more hot waifu that you can roll for.
